Youth in Action: Black History Bus Tour Experiential Program

Empowerment and Healing Through History

We're excited to announce the launch of the Youth in Action: Black History Bus Tour Experiential Program—a dynamic and immersive learning experience designed for high school and college students. This unique program combines hands-on tours, interactive activities, reflective discussions, and youth-led experiences to bring Black history to life.

Immersive Learning

  • Landmark Site Visits: Travel to landmark sites significant to Black history and culture.
  • Guided Narratives: Enjoy bus tours led by experts who bring historical      narratives to life, with the goal that, over time, youth participants will take on the role of tour guides, offering their unique insights and perspectives.

Interactive Activities

  • Workshops and Discussions: Participate in engaging sessions, including workshops, Q&A sessions, and discussions with historians and community leaders.
  • Hands-On Experiences: Dive into activities that link historical events to      contemporary cultural insights, encouraging active learning and community connection.

Reflective Practice & Healing

  • Debrief Sessions: Take part in debrief sessions that allow participants to      integrate their experiences with classroom learning.
  • Personal and Collective Healing: Explore how history can be a source of healing by understanding struggles, celebrating achievements, and fostering      resilience. This program creates a safe space for dialogue, reflection, and personal growth, empowering youth to become agents of healing in their communities.

Cultural Awareness & Enrichment

  • Historical Impact: Gain a deeper understanding of the struggles, achievements, and contributions of Black individuals and communities.
  • Community Empowerment: Learn how historical awareness and active participation can promote cultural enrichment and community empowerment.

By engaging in these experiences, participants not only honor the legacy of Black history but also contribute to a future where youth leadership plays a central role in educating and healing communities. Whether through leading a portion of the bus tours or spearheading interactive sessions, youth will be empowered to take ownership of their learning journey and drive positive change through history.
