The Vassie D. Wright Memorial Branch Library of the Los Angeles Public Library is named in honor of Vassie D. Wright, the founder of Our Authors Study Club of Los Angeles and a pioneering civic and cultural leader. The naming of the library stands as a public recognition of Wright’s foundational role in shaping OASC and her broader contributions to African American cultural and civic life in Los Angeles.
